Position Overview

As an Assistant Store Manager, you will support a Market Leader or Campus Store Manager in overseeing store operations. Your responsibilities include driving sales growth, ensuring brand and operational excellence, and providing an engaging customer service experience.

You will foster mentorship and continuous development within your team, stay engaged with financial metrics and store performance, and assist in overall store management.

Responsibilities

1. Supervise sales team activities, including scheduling, training, policy adherence, and merchandising standards.
2. Conduct onboarding for new hires.
3. Greet customers, handle inquiries, resolve escalated issues, and promote a hassle-free customer service culture.
4. Receive, verify, and unload orders.
5. Operate cash register and store computer systems, handle payments, and balance cash drawers.
6. Stock shelves, manage inventory, and perform store cleaning and organization.
7. Execute merchandising and promotion standards, create displays.
8. Fill in for other personnel as needed, including register operations and departmental support.
9. Serve as keyholder with opening and closing responsibilities.
10. Manage deposits, cash handling, accounts receivable, and end-of-month reporting.
11. Implement shrink prevention practices.
12. Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

• Associate's Degree or equivalent preferred.
• 0-5 years retail or bookstore experience preferred; supervisory experience is a plus.
• General computer skills required.
