The Assistant Store Manager will support the Store Manager in areas of sales, customer service, store appearance, and store operations. This position will manage the store during the Store Manager’s absence and/or when working opposing shifts. The Assistant Manager will be expected to lead the store team members in servicing customers.

Essential Job Functions

  1. Lead the store team members in providing excellent customer service to retail and professional customers.
  2. Supervise the customer service levels on the retail showroom, including team member execution on customer service programs (Related sales, Hi5, Rock the Call, Never Say No, Rock the Lot, etc.).
  3. Work with the store manager to ensure the retail sales counter is adequately staffed, especially during peak hours.
  4. Assist the store manager in setting team member goals, providing feedback, coaching/mentoring, and ensuring ongoing training.
  5. Participate in the hiring process by recruiting, interviewing, evaluating candidates, and collaborating on selecting qualified team members.
  6. Answer telephone calls according to company policy.
  7. Ensure timely processing of buy online/ship to store, transfers, and orders, and contact customers as needed.
  8. Handle special orders and outside purchases efficiently using electronic ledger.
  9. Process retail customer returns and exchanges efficiently and accurately.
  10. Ensure all merchandise, including core charges and warranties, are invoiced before leaving the store.
  11. Communicate Zipline messages and delegate merchandising tasks.
  12. Ensure team members comply with company policies, work schedules, and clocking-in procedures.
  13. Perform store opening and closing duties, including securing money, preparing deposits, and ensuring security measures.
  14. Assist in maintaining the store building, parking lot, signage, equipment, and delivery vehicles.
  15. Perform other duties as assigned.

Skills/Education/Knowledge/Experience/Abilities

Required: Sales Specialist Training, Assistant Manager Certification, and RSS Certification.

Desired: Certified Parts Professional Certification; ASE Certification; Fluency in multiple languages (Spanish highly desired).
