Job summary

Global Partners LP is looking for an Assistant Store Manager (ASM) in Andover, Connecticut. The ASM supports daily operations ensuring compliance with policies and delivering exceptional guest service. Responsibilities include supervising employees, managing cash procedures, and maintaining cleanliness.

The ideal candidate will have 1-2 years of supervisory experience, excellent communication skills, and physical capability for the role. This position offers a pay range of $20.59 – $23.59 per hour, along with a competitive benefits package.

Qualifications

• Must be available to work flexible hours, including day, night, weekends, and holidays.
• Physical ability to reach, bend, twist, stoop, kneel, crouch, climb ladders, and lift up to 25 lbs. during a shift.
• Reliable transportation and a valid driver’s license.

Job description

The Assistant Store Manager (ASM) supports the general manager with all day‑to‑day store operations, ensuring compliance with policies and delivering exceptional guest service.

Responsibilities

• Complete required daily accounting paperwork and submit by deadline.
• Supervise, develop, train and discipline non‑exempt (hourly) employees.
• Monitor shift cash handling and inventory; assist in investigations of shortages/overages.
• Maintain business records, cashier accountability sheets, and other documentation assigned by the General Manager or Territory Manager.
• Perform banking, invoicing, payroll, and other administrative duties as requested.
• Manage cash management procedures, including bank deposits and change orders.
• Maintain Grand Opening Ready Standards and uphold store image standards.
• Maintain high levels of cleanliness and sanitation.
• Ensure the store is secure and safe; report issues to management.
• Ensure adequate gasoline levels and coordinate deliveries.
• Engage in all company promotional initiatives.
• Promote a high level of guest service.
• Perform duties as required by company policies, procedures, and the Company Handbook.

Qualifications

• Must be available to work flexible hours, including day, night, weekends, and holidays.
• 1–2 years of supervisory experience.
• Ability to work unsupervised.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Basic computer literacy.
• Reliable transportation and a valid driver’s license.
• Ability to work in intermittent temperatures (outside, cooler, etc.).
• Physical ability to reach, bend, twist, stoop, kneel, crouch, climb ladders, and lift up to 25 lbs. during a shift.
• Free access to all store areas, including selling floor, stock area, and register area.
• Minimum age 18 years.

Education

• High School Diploma or equivalent.

Pay Range

$20.59 – $23.59 per hour, commensurate with experience, skills, and location.
