Job description

The primary role of the Assistant Manager/Manager in Training is to develop and demonstrate the skills necessary to successfully oversee the operation of a Maplefields Store in the absence of a manager. This individual also assists the Store Manager in day-to-day activities and the development and training of store sales associates, ensuring company standards are met at all times.

Examples of Tasks and Responsibilities:

  • Assist in recruiting, hiring, and training individuals to provide exceptional customer service.
  • Coordinate and participate in store operations, monitor cash drawers, and complete financial paperwork. Provide shift coverage as needed.
  • Create a positive work environment to motivate and train staff.
  • Implement and enforce daily operating procedures to maintain cleanliness, organization, and stock levels. Follow all company policies and communicate issues to management.
  • Ensure merchandise is properly stocked, displayed attractively, and priced correctly. Handle price changes and understand promotional signage. Enforce vendor policies and timely invoice processing.
  • Follow environmental procedures, train staff on spill response, safety, and security, and ensure incident reports are filled out accurately following company protocols.

Availability:

Shifts vary by location based on business needs. Schedules are flexible and discussed with your manager to accommodate your desired hours. The position requires limited self-provided transportation for business functions.
