Assistant Store Leader (Finance)


Learn the operations of all departments and the duties of store management; share responsibility for store performance in all areas of operation/human resources. Perform scheduling, security, maintenance, safety, sanitation, ordering, administration, and Human Resource-related duties. Minimum requirements:

  • High school diploma/GED
  • At least 1 year of experience as a department or service manager
  • Approval from store or district manager

Desired qualifications:

  • Retail management experience and knowledge of store operations
  • Staff supervisory experience

Responsibilities include:

  • Assisting in achieving a positive customer shopping experience and developing associates in customer service.
  • Leading teams in planning and executing merchandising and operational initiatives.
  • Developing action plans based on survey results and store opportunities.
  • Modeling high customer service standards and resolving issues.
  • Managing store operations in the absence of the store manager.
  • Achieving sales, wage, profit, safety, and shrink targets.
  • Driving sales and profits, reducing shrink, and improving departmental contributions.
  • Participating in financial performance discussions and budget development.
  • Analyzing the competitive landscape and promoting inclusive leadership.
  • Collaborating with coordinators and community organizations.
  • Building relationships with union representatives if applicable.
  • Communicating effectively with staff and serving as a liaison with management.
  • Supporting staffing, retention, and performance management efforts.
  • Ensuring legal and policy compliance and supervising staff performance reviews.
