Assistant Store Leader (Finance)
Learn the operations of all departments and the duties of store management; share responsibility for store performance in all areas of operation/human resources. Perform scheduling, security, maintenance, safety, sanitation, ordering, administration & Human Resource-related duties. Minimum Requirements:
- High school diploma/GED
- 1 year of experience as department manager, service manager, or equivalent experience
- Store manager/district manager or direct manager approval
Desired Qualifications:
- Retail management experience & knowledge of all aspects of store operations
- Staff supervisory experience
Responsibilities include:
- Assist store manager & associates in achieving a positive customer shopping experience and develop associate interest in customer service to enhance Kroger's reputation.
- Lead teams in planning, implementing & executing merchandising/operating initiatives.
- Develop action plans and communicate results to associates.
- Identify store opportunities, develop solutions & create action plans for implementation.
- Demonstrate high levels of customer service & resolve issues effectively.
- Manage store operations in the store manager's absence.
- Achieve/exceed sales, wage, profit, safety, and shrink targets.
- Drive sales and profits, reduce shrink, and improve departmental contributions.
- Discuss financial performance with associates and develop budgets.
- Analyze the competitive landscape and respond accordingly.
- Demonstrate inclusive leadership and promote diversity.
- Utilize staff to meet sales and profit goals and ensure execution of merchandising plans.
- Build relationships with community organizations and union representatives if applicable.
- Communicate effectively with staff and coordinate with district managers and coordinators.
- Assist with staffing, reduce turnover, and increase retention.
- Provide performance feedback and manage labor and supply costs.
- Ensure compliance with laws and policies.
- Supervise and coach staff, conduct performance reviews, and provide feedback.
