Assistant Store Leader (Finance)
Learn the operations of all departments and the duties of store management; share responsibility for store performance in all areas of operation/human resources. Perform scheduling, security, maintenance, safety, sanitation, ordering, administration & Human Resource-related duties. Minimum Requirements:
- High school diploma/GED
- 1 year of experience as department manager, service manager, or equivalent experience
- Store manager/district manager or direct manager approval
Preferred Qualifications and Responsibilities:
- Retail management experience & knowledge of all aspects of store operations
- Staff supervisory experience
- Assist store manager & associates in achieving a favorable customer shopping experience and develop associate interest in customer service/relations to enhance Kroger's reputation
- Assist store manager in leading teams in planning, implementing & executing merchandising/operating initiatives
- Support development of action plans based on Associate Insight survey results
- Identify store opportunities, develop solutions, and ensure plan execution
- Model and demand high levels of customer service and resolve issues effectively
- Manage total store operations in the store manager's absence
- Achieve sales, wage, profit, safety, and shrink targets
- Drive sales and profits through collaboration with department managers and staff
- Discuss financial performance and develop budgets with staff
- Analyze competitive landscape and adapt strategies accordingly
- Demonstrate inclusive leadership and promote diversity
- Coordinate with field staff to meet sales and profit goals
- Build relationships with community organizations and union representatives as applicable
- Communicate effectively with team members
- Serve as a liaison with district managers and coordinators
- Assist in staffing, retention, and performance management
- Ensure legal and policy compliance
- Supervise, coach, and evaluate staff performance
