Westborn Market is seeking an Assistant Store Director to help oversee daily operations at our Berkley, MI location. The role requires leadership to uphold our vision and values, ensuring smooth store performance and exceptional customer service.

The ideal candidate will bring 2+ years of supervisory experience, strong verbal and written communication, and the ability to multitask across departments in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma is required.
• 2+ years supervisory experience preferred.
• Able to work a varied schedule including days, evenings, weekends, and holidays.
• Ability to multitask and switch roles with ease.
• Excellent verbal and written communications skills.

Responsibilities

• Assist day-to-day store operations including opening/closing procedures.
• Trained in all departments to assist as needed.
• Collaborate with department managers on staff development, merchandising, scheduling, and ordering.
• Implement and uphold new and existing initiatives.
• Assist in recruitment, hiring, and onboarding of new staff.
• Engage customers to deliver quality service and resolve issues.
• Prioritize tasks and adapt to changing priorities.
• Demonstrate problem-solving in a fast-paced setting.
• Assist with miscellaneous tasks as assigned by the Store Director.

The Assistant Store Director will be responsible for helping oversee daily operations to keep our store running smoothly and consistently. We are looking for an adaptable person that can provide exemplary leadership to uphold Westborn Market’s vision, mission, and values.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

The essential functions include, but are not limited to the following:

• Helps to manage day to day store operations including opening and closing procedures
• Fully trained in all departments to assist as needed
• Works closely with department managers to help aid in areas of need such as development of staff, merchandising, scheduling, and ordering
• Implements and upholds new and existing initiatives
• Aids the store director in the recruitment, hiring, and onboarding of new employees
• Engages and interacts with the public to offer quality customer service and ensures customer needs, complaints, and issues are successfully resolved
• Prioritizes tasks appropriately and can re-prioritize with ease
• Demonstrates problem solving skills in a fast-paced customer-oriented work environment
• Assists with other miscellaneous items as assigned by Store Director
