The Assistant Store Director supports the overall operations of the store, ensuring efficient, profitable, and customer-focused performance. This role is responsible for driving sales and profitability, providing leadership and guidance to department managers and employees, and upholding high standards of customer service, safety, and compliance with company policies and regulations. Responsible for perpetuating the fundamental values of the Hy-Vee culture, including honesty, integrity, friendliness, caring, sincerity, respect, and high ethics. Helps the company improve and grow through ownership.
Accountable and reports to: Regional Vice President; Store Director
Positions that report to you: All store employees
High School diploma or equivalent, plus Dale Carnegie and perimeter department training. Over five years of related managerial experience.
Exposure to dust, noise, temperature extremes, equipment hazards, electrical shocks, and chemicals. Fast-paced environment.
Box cutter, cash registers, knives, trash and cardboard compactors, computer, calculator, telephone, FAX, register system, company vehicles, copier, and power equipment.
Authorized to donate merchandise, recommend monetary donations, purchase merchandise, and approve operating expenses within company policy.
Daily contact with customers, employees, vendors, and the public. Occasional contact with regulatory agencies.
Access to confidential information including sales, profit/loss, wages, and employee files.
