Job summary

The State Attorney’s Office, Third Judicial Circuit, seeks an Assistant State Attorney to prosecute crimes across Columbia, Suwannee, Madison, Dixie, Taylor, Hamilton, and Lafayette counties. Candidates must be licensed to practice in Florida and have strong judgment aligned with our mission to pursue justice transparently and fairly.

Responsibilities include trial readiness, legal research, depo conduct, witness interviews, and collaboration with public safety partners.

Qualifications

• Membership in good standing with the Florida Bar.
• Certified legal interns with a criminal law concentration may be considered.

Responsibilities

• Prosecute criminal cases with preparation of legal documents, research, depositions, and witness interviews.
• Conduct trial work including case preparation for court, examination and cross-examination of witnesses and defendants.
• Interact professionally with the public, law enforcement, and office staff; work independently and as a team member.
