Job summary

State Attorney’s Office for Florida’s Fourth Judicial Circuit in Jacksonville seeks Assistant State Attorneys to learn trial advocacy and handle prosecutions in Duval, Clay, and Nassau counties. New attorneys receive hands-on training, shadow experienced prosecutors, and access a comprehensive manual specific to the Fourth Circuit.

Applicants must be members of the Florida Bar in good standing or law graduates awaiting results, or 3L students with internship credentials.

Qualifications

• Members of the Florida Bar in good standing.
• Law school graduates that have taken the Florida Bar Exam and are awaiting results; or 3L students with Certified Legal Intern.
• Strong interest in courtroom litigation with excellent communication and critical thinking skills.

Responsibilities

• Conduct jury trials, non-jury trials, and pretrial hearings.
• Investigate, evaluate, and prepare cases for trial.
• Communicate with victims, family members, witnesses, and law enforcement.
• Manage a high-volume caseload.
• Conduct legal research and writing.
