Salary Range

$57,594.00/yr - $77,000.00/yr

Responsibilities

1. Assist in child and youth team sports, fitness and health initiatives, skill-building clinics, and community outreach. Manage volunteer coaches and coach certification programs.
2. Assist in planning and implementing programs that promote positive growth and development of children and youth. Oversee staff performance and ensure participant safety.
3. Ensure programs adhere to the National Standards for Youth Sports (NAYS). Train and monitor coaches according to NYSCA guidelines. Supervise volunteers as needed.
4. Assist in developing and managing budgets, procuring supplies and equipment, and maintaining statistical data for planning and reporting. Ensure compliance with CYS standards.
5. Perform supervisory functions, assist in recruitment, and prepare reports and briefings related to CYS activities.

• Must be 18 years or older at the time of appointment.
• Must have a valid Social Security Card and participate in direct deposit.
• Complete pre-employment checks, including a Child Care Tier 1 background investigation.
• Provide a current health assessment, including immunizations and annual flu vaccination.
• Possible one-year probationary period.
• Complete annual training and demonstrate on-the-job competence.
• Work shifts may vary, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.

Qualifications

A bachelor's degree or higher with at least 24 semester hours in physical education, or equivalent experience in sports program planning, supervision, or coaching, especially for children or youth. Highly qualified candidates will have relevant experience in youth sports program development and coaching techniques.

Additional Information

Temporary commissary privileges are granted to CYS employees until December 31, 2025. The area of consideration is worldwide, including military spouse and involuntary separation preferences.
