Assistant Sports and Fitness Director (CYS) NF-03

Join to apply for the Assistant Sports and Fitness Director (CYS) NF-03 role at U.S. Army MWR.

This position is located at the Youth Sports and Fitness Center, West Point, NY, and may be used to fill additional vacancies across the program. Management reserves the right to assign staff to locations as mission requires. The position is eligible for the NAF benefits package and leave accrual. This role is mission and weather essential.

Salary Range

$57,594.00/yr - $77,000.00/yr

Job Summary

This position involves assisting in child and youth team sports, fitness initiatives, skill-building clinics, and community outreach. Responsibilities include managing volunteer coaches, ensuring program standards are met, supervising staff, managing budgets, and ensuring safety and compliance with standards such as NAYS and NYSCA guidelines.

Minimum Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree or higher with a major or 24 semester hours in physical education.
  • Or equivalent experience in sports program planning, supervision, or coaching.

Highly qualified candidates will also have experience in youth sports program planning or related coursework in childhood development or health/nutrition.

Key Requirements
  • Must be 18 or older.
  • Subject to background checks, health assessment, and immunizations.
  • Ability to work varying shifts, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
