Job summary

Tennessee Middle School in Bristol is seeking an Assistant Softball Coach to support the head coach and grow a competitive program aligned with school goals. Immediate starting date; a stipend is provided as part of the role.

Responsibilities

• Assist the head coach to evaluate and formulate an improvement plan for the overall softball program.
• Provide supervision of student-athletes involved in Tennessee Middle Softball
• Assist the head coach with practices.
• Assist the head coach with coordinating all game day activities.
• Promote the softball program in both the school and the community and serve as the spokesperson in the area of public relations for Tennessee Middle softball.
• Work cooperatively with school staff, student-athletes, and parents in promoting Tennessee Middle Softball.
• Work cooperatively with coaches of other sports to ensure the overall success of Tennessee Middle Athletics.
• Perform all duties assigned by the head coach.
• Maintain and oversee the safety conditions of all dressing rooms, facilities, and equipment used by Tennessee Middle Softball.
• Coach individual participants in the skills necessary for excellent achievement in the sport involved.
• Enforce the code of conduct and expectations for the Tennessee Middle softball rogram.
• Perform such duties as may reasonably be assigned by the athletic director.
• Ensure accident/injury reports are submitted to the athletic office in a prompt manner.
• Assist with the development and implementation of the off‑season strength and conditioning program.

JOB GOALS AND OBJECTIVES

• To provide overall leadership, supervision and coordination of the softball program.
• To provide and atmosphere that promotes the development of skills necessary to allow student athletes to participate at a competitive level.
• To provide a softball program that is an extension of the overall academic program at Tennessee Middle School.
• To provide a softball program that emphasizes academics, discipline, high morals, and team play.
• To provide a softball program that builds a strong foundation that will prepare our student‑athletes to become productive citizens.
• To provide a softball program that promotes integrity and sportsmanship and teaches student‑athletes to be aware that doing the right thing is more important than the outcome of a game.
