Job summary

Sylvania in Martinsville, IN is seeking an Assistant Softball Coach for the 2026-27 season to support student-athlete development and school programs. You will ensure compliance with IHSAA rules, manage training, and help shape the feeder program with the middle school.

The role requires mentoring of junior staff, strong communication with families, and the ability to manage multiple responsibilities with professional composure.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Basic computer or communication skills.
• Ability to work with students.
• Experience in schools or similar settings.
• Knowledge of the sport and coaching certifications.

Responsibilities

• Adhere to IHSAA regulations and coach safety and welfare of student-athletes.
• Develop and implement in-season and off-season training programs.
• Monitor academic progress of student-athletes.
• Organize team schedules and coordinate transportation requests.
• Develop game strategies and oversee equipment inventory/maintenance.
• Supervise and mentor assistant coaches.
• Conduct parent meetings and maintain positive communication with families.
• Collaborate with school administration and build a feeder program with middle school.
• Remain emotionally stable and exercise sound judgment in a fast-paced environment.
