Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University is seeking an Assistant Softball Coach to support the Head Coach at the Prescott, Arizona Campus. The Assistant Softball Coach is responsible for coaching, teaching and recruiting issues, along with practice and game-related functions as assigned by the Head Coach.

Responsibilities

  • Instruct student-athletes on softball fundamentals and strategies.
  • Assist in recruiting and retaining qualified student-athletes.
  • Support Life in the Balance ideals (learning, balance, resourcefulness, sportsmanship, passion, service).
  • Assist with field preparation, scouting reports, and game management.
  • Help monitor athletic academic progress and progress of team members.
  • Lead workshops, summer camps, clinics to promote the softball program.

Job Description The Opportunity

Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University is seeking an Assistant Softball Coach to support the Head Coach at the Prescott, Arizona Campus. The Assistant Softball Coach is responsible for a variety of coaching, teaching and recruiting issues, along with practice and game-related functions as assigned by the Head Coach.

Primary Job Functions, Duties, or Accountabilities:
  • Provide instruction to softball student-athletes on the fundamentals and strategies of softball.
  • Assist in recruiting and retaining highly skilled student-athletes for the softball team.
  • Actively support and promote the NCAA’s Life in the Balance strategic positioning platform, embracing the six ideals of learning, balance, resourcefulness, sportsmanship, passion and service.
  • Assist with daily field maintenance, preparation of scouting reports, and game management duties.
  • Assist in creating and monitoring great expectations and the academic progress of all softball team members.
  • Lead the operation of workshops, summer camps, clinics, etc. to promote the softball program.
  • Maintain and manage team equipment.
  • Assist in securing donations and sponsorships to support the softball program.
  • Assist with arranging for lodging and meals for team trips.
  • Assume duties of the head coach in his/her absence.
  • Other duties as assigned.
