Job summary

Meridian Health Services in West Lafayette, IN is seeking a part-time Assistant Social Worker to support our inpatient psychiatric team at River Bend Hospital. The role requires delivering compassionate care within a whole-person health framework and coordinating with staff to support treatment goals.

You will assist in developing treatment plans, conduct psychosocial assessments, provide individual and group therapy, and maintain timely EMR notes.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in social work, psychology, counseling, or related field.
• Experience with developmental and/or mental health challenges preferred.
• Valid driver’s license with reliable transportation and auto insurance.

Meridian Health Services is currently seeking a part-time Assistant Social Worker to work 11am - 7pm and weekends 10am - 6pm on rotation, with our multidisciplinary inpatient psychiatric team located at River Bend Hospital, in West Lafayette, IN. The successful candidate effectively communicates (verbally and in writing) with clients, members of the treatment team, social service agencies, care providers, families, and others; utilizes available technology to communicate efficiently and provide for the protection and care of the individual; is able to use skills to de-escalate agitated persons; is able to understand and tolerate constructive criticism and accept input from many different team members.

Assistant Social Worker Key Responsibilities:

• Assists Social Worker or Therapist in developing and writing treatment plans.
• Produces positive treatment outcomes with individuals.

We are seeking Assistant Social Worker candidates with the following qualities:

• Must have earned a bachelor’s degree in social work, psychology, counseling, or a related field.
• Experience working with persons with developmental and/or mental health challenges is preferred.
• A valid driver's license with a driving record meeting Meridian's driving policy, reliable transportation, and proof of auto insurance
