SUMMARY:

Responsible for providing assistance to shift manager by maintaining continuous contact with the slot and Player’s Club supervisors to ensure efficient operation of all slot operational areas. Communicates with shift manager all matters related to guests and employees in accordance with established guidelines and property policies.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES Include The Following

  • Supervises the operation of all slot machines and performance of slot floor staff in assigned area and communicates with shift manager of any guest and/or employee problems.
  • Organizes the assigned shift and area including, daily employee assignments, employee break schedules and staffing levels.
  • Verifies slot pay outs (jackpots, fills, etc.) and booth buying/selling, maintains security of monies within the department.
  • Strives to meet revenue goals by ensuring all slot machines are in working order. Notifies slot maintenance of repair.
  • Supervises count in/count out of change banks and booths when variances occur, also records and tracks variances, and check voids.
  • Supports training programs for each position and ensures adequate training and development is provided for each employee.
  • Ensures that the highest possible standards of guest services and employee relations are maintained and carried out in fair and equitable manner.
  • Directs placement of employees for on the job training and assists in conducting training.
  • Responsible for verifying and ensuring pay outs of large jackpots and fills are properly executed.
  • Assists shift managers with scheduling employees and ensuring correct staffing levels and adjustments are made in accordance with guest needs.
  • Monitors job performance progress of employees and provides feedback on same to aid the employee in developing and enhancing skills.
  • Provides input to slot manager and department heads concerning operational deficiencies and areas in need of attention.
  • Aids shift manager with administrative needs i.e. recordkeeping, time reports and counseling notices.
  • Conducts investigations into the resolution of variances to ensure compliance with property policies and employee integrity levels.
  • Makes recommendations and suggestions to hire, transfer, suspend, promote, discharge, assign, evaluate, reward, and/or discipline the employees in his/her span of control.
  • Maintains current knowledge of local jurisdiction gaming laws (federal, state, compact, etc.) and attendant regulations, as well as property internal controls, policies and procedures.
  • Promotes all departmental and property-wide promotions.
  • Initiates and maintains communication with subordinates, employees, management, and other departments.
  • Develops and manages player’s club operations in accordance with established policies, budgets, procedures and specifications.
  • Ensures individual and team comping decisions are within department guidelines.
  • Maintains appropriate staffing levels in the player’s club by interviewing, selecting, training, scheduling, evaluating, promoting, disciplining and terminating employees, as needed.
  • Facilitates the flow of information throughout the player’s club by organizing and presiding over regularly scheduled meetings with all player’s club employees
  • Assists in developing and monitoring operating budgets.
  • Held accountable, to a high degree, for maintaining accurate and thorough departmental records and reports.
  • Creatively resolves problems in player’s club.
  • Resolves guest disputes involving complimentaries, collaborating with the Director of Guest Services and Executive Hosts as needed.
  • Prepares detailed reports on player’s club activities as needed.
  • Attends marketing meetings as a source of knowledge concerning the participation of player’s club employees in upcoming promotions.
  • Maintains an adequate stock of supplies for use in the player’s club booth, Host Office and High Limits Podium, as well as player’s club-related printed material, such as brochures, for the casino. Assists in developing and implementing special property events for player development purposes.
  • Interacts with high-end players to ensure their return and endorsement.

Supervisory Responsibilities

Directly supervises all slot floor people, player’s club employees and/or all slot and player’s club supervisors on assigned shifts; indirectly supervises the activities of employees on assigned shift.

Qualification Requirements

EDUCATION And/or EXPERIENCE

High school diploma or general education degree (GED), or college degree preferred, and two to three years slot floor supervisory experience required.

Special Qualifications

Strong organizational and communication skills required.

This position requires a Level 2 Gaming License.

Language Skills

Ability to read, analyze, and interpret documents, such as policy and procedure manuals, maintenance instructions, and other related documents. Ability to write effective reports and memos. Ability to respond to inquiries from employees or guests. Ability to communicate effectively in one-on-one, small group, and large group situations.

Mathematical Skills

Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio and percent, and to interpret data from graphs.

Reasoning Ability

Ability to apply common sense reasoning to variety of situations.
