Job summary

Gray Construction is seeking an experienced Assistant Site Safety Manager to join our team on site in Dallas. The role focuses on enforcing safety rules, coordinating safety training, and maintaining comprehensive safety records to ensure compliance with OSHA regulations on industrial construction projects.

The ideal candidate will have a Bachelor’s degree or 5+ years of related experience, OSHA 30 Hour certification, and a proven ability to lead safety initiatives with energy and collaboration

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree or 5+ years of related experience; relevant construction safety background.
  • OSHA 30 Hour certification required.
  • Industrial construction experience highly preferred.
  • Knowledge of safety/environmental principles and techniques.
  • Basic computer skills; MS Office proficiency.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication abilities.
  • Energetic, self-motivated, collaborative professional.

Responsibilities

  • Enforce use of safety equipment and clothing per OSHA and company rules.
  • Ensure project sites comply with safety requirements.
  • Maintain accurate safety records and reports.
  • Keep work areas neat, safe, and organized.
  • Investigate incidents and complete required reports.
  • Counsel non-compliant team members and subcontractors.
  • Hold safety meetings and jobsite reviews as part of coordination.
  • Conduct daily safety meetings and site orientations.
  • Deliver jobsite safety training and enforce Gray’s safety program.

What We Expect
  • Enforce the use of safety equipment/clothing as required by OSHA and company safety regulations.
  • Reinforce that team members on the project site are in compliance with the safety requirements of the company.
  • Ensure that appropriate safety records are maintained.
  • Ensure that work areas are maintained in a neat, safe and orderly fashion.
  • Investigate cause of an incident and complete reports as required.
  • Assist Site Manager in administrative counseling to team members and subcontractors who are in non-compliance with safety requirements.
  • Hold safety meetings/jobsite review as part of coordination meetings.
  • Responsible for conducting daily safety meetings.
  • Responsible for conducting orientation and jobsite specific training.
  • Responsible for the communication, implementation and enforcement of Gray’s safety program on site.
  • Other duties may be assigned.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in a related field OR 5+ years of related experience in lieu of a degree.
  • OSHA 30 Hour card.
  • Experience in an industrial construction environment is highly preferred.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of safety/environmental principles and techniques.
  • Basic computer skills and experience with Microsoft Office suite programs.
  • Ability to communicate well both verbally and in writing.
  • Should be an energetic, self‑motivated individual who has a passion for collaboration and professional development.

The team member is occasionally exposed to high precarious places, fumes or airborne particles, extreme cold and/or heat, risk of electrical shock, explosives, and vibration. The noise level is generally moderate to loud. Overtime may be required.

Supervisory Responsibilities

Indirectly manages subcontractor safety personnel.
