The City of Conroe seeks an Assistant Sign Technician to plan, coordinate, and direct activities of the sign department under the Street & Drainage Superintendent to provide Traffic Management Services.
The role requires a High School diploma, 3+ years of experience in traffic markings, sign installation and maintenance, and a Texas Class A CDL. The position includes heavy physical demands and on-call hours as part of emergency responses.
The Assistant Sign Technician performs several job functions under the supervision of the Street & Drainage Superintendent. This position plans, coordinates and directs activities within the sign department to provide Traffic Management Services.
Education and Experience: High school diploma or equivalent required. Minimum of three years of experience in traffic markings, sign installation and maintenance.
Special Requirements: Must possess a valid Texas Class "A" Commercial driver's license.
The work is heavy and requires the ability to exert up to 100 pounds of force occasionally, and/or up to 50 pounds of force frequently, and/or up to 20 pounds of force constantly to move objects. Additionally, the following physical abilities are required: balancing, climbing, crawling, crouching, fingering, grasping, handling, hearing, kneeling, lifting, mental acuity, pulling, pushing, reaching, repetitive motions, speaking, standing, stooping, walking, visual acuity, and talking.
