Take-5-Oil-Change seeks an Assistant Shop Manager to lead daily shop operations, assist customers, and supervise a team on site in Suisun City, CA. You may rotate to cover Manager duties in their absence and will participate in opening/closing procedures and inventory control.

It’s important that all team members gain a strong knowledge of our oils and services.Must maneuver in and out of a shallow 3’ deep pit used to position yourself safely under cars.You will walk, stand, bend, stoop, twist, etc. for extended periods of time and perform activities involving holding, grasping, pulling and turning.You may need to work in hot/cold weather conditions.Always be alert and aware of your surroundings.Must be able to lift up to fifty (50) pounds.Must be able to travel out-of-state for training purposes.Need to be able to communicate effectively, including reading and writing in English.Need to have reliable transportation.What does an Assistant Shop Manager (ASM) do?Check in with customers before they leave the shop to make sure they had a great experience.Assume the responsibility and authority of the Shop Manager in the Shop Manager’s absence.Running the floor (making sure each team member is where they need to be, ensuring everything has been checked on each vehicle, and every customer is satisfied before they leave).Perform opening and closing procedures.Assist with counting and adjusting inventory.Place supply orders.Ensure customer satisfaction, address complaints and handle claims.Anyone in Management is always responsible for onboarding, training and developing their team members.Being a role model to other team members in the shop.Setting goals and holding team members accountable.Assist with team member scheduling.ASMs are also expected to perform all technician duties including but not limited to:Drain motor oil and change oil filterWash windshield and adjust tire pressureInspect and top off fluidsAssist the customer in selecting oil type and other servicesProcess payment for services performed.Perform coolant exchangesRestock and maintain inventory levels on the floorMaintain shop, office, and bathroom cleanlinessPass out flyersSign wavingAll other duties as assigned
