POSITION SUMMARY— Responsible for guiding production employees in a manufacturing and assembly environment in accordance with cost, quality, and quantity specifications and safety procedures. At the same time, develop and maintain cooperative working relationships with all other departments in order to meet production goals. WORK ENVIRONMENT— Must be willing and able to work in an environment exposed to elements that can include but are not limited to coolant, dust, mist, elevated noise, and uncontrolled temperatures.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
- Direct and coordinate the activities of employees engaged in the production or processing of goods, such as assemblers, inspectors, machine setters, and fabricators
- Confer with production management to coordinate operations and activities within or between departments and shifts
- Inspect materials, products, equipment and building facilities to detect defects or malfunctions
- Observe work and monitor OEE/OLE gauges, dials, and other indicators to ensure that operators conform to production or processing standards
- Conduct employee training on equipment and operations in terms of quality in station work procedures and safety procedures, or assign employee training to other certified trainers
- Track, submit, and approve attendance and hours worked through company time keeping system and payroll system
- Investigate and resolve worker problems, complaints, or issues before raising to upper management
- Recommend or implement measures to motivate employees and to improve production methods, equipment performance, product quality, and efficiency
- Send out a shift handoff form via email, detailing production data, problems from prior shifts, and any other applicable information
- Recommend or execute personnel actions, such as hires, evaluations, promotions and terminations
- Ensure production meets quality standards
- Understand and enforce all safety protocols, resolving any problems immediately
- Fill in for shift manager as needed
- Work with cross functional support teams to remove obstacles and employ continuous improvement projects
- Ability to stop the production line and/or prevent shipment of products due to nonconformance or potential nonconformance products to our customers
- Support the environmental policy with proactive process implementation, improvement suggestions, reducing waste, and acting on environment performance results and findings.

- Strong team building, decision making, and people management skills
- Adequate knowledge of business and management principles, budgeting, resource allocation, and human resources
- Understanding of continuous improvement and the ability to learn and adapt to new processes
POSITION QUALIFICATIONS
Education: High School Graduate, GED, or HSDE preferred; Associate’s Degree would be an advantage Experience: Two or more years of manufacturing environment, quality, and/or leadership experiencepreferred
Computer Skills: Must demonstrate computer literacy; Proficient using Microsoft Office; Ability to learn in-house manufacturing and management software
