Mechanical Systems Company is seeking an experienced Assistant Sheet Metal Riding Superintendent in Memphis, TN to lead field operations, supervise sheet metal crews, and ensure projects meet safety, quality, schedule, and budget standards. The role requires 10+ years in ductwork or sheet metal installation, strong leadership, and the ability to coordinate activities across multiple projects.

A valid driver’s license and Procore/Office familiarity are preferred.

Qualifications

• 10+ years of ductwork or commercial HVAC sheet metal installation experience.
• Proven experience supervising teams on construction job sites.
• Experience with large-scale commercial or industrial projects.
• Valid driver’s license with insurable driving record.
• Strong knowledge of local codes, tools, and sheet metal systems.
• Basic computer skills including Word, Excel, Outlook; Procore experience preferred.
• Ability to plan manpower, coordinate field activities, and manage multiple priorities.

Responsibilities

• Promote and enforce a strong safety culture across all job sites.
• Assist in supervising sheet metal crews across multiple projects.
• Read and interpret blueprints, specifications, and project documents.
• Plan and coordinate daily work activities and manpower needs.
• Ensure quality control and compliance with project specifications.
• Assist with material planning, procurement, and tool management.
• Maintain daily reports, documentation, and project updates.
• Support scheduling, pre-planning, and fabrication coordination.
• Monitor subcontractors and overall jobsite progress.
• Communicate effectively with project managers, field teams, customers, and other stakeholders.
• Mentor and support sheet metal mechanics and apprentices.
• Help ensure projects remain on schedule and within budget.

Assistant Sheet Metal Riding Superintendent

Location: Memphis, TN Pay Range: $39-$44 per hour, depending on experience

Work Hours: 40+ hours per week, with overtime as required

Physical Requirements

• Ability to walk, climb, balance, kneel, crouch, and crawl as required
• Ability to frequently lift up to 25 lbs. and occasionally lift up to 100 lbs.Ability to work in active construction environments, including varying weather and jobsite conditions
