Job summary

Audi San Diego, part of Holman, seeks an Assistant Service Manager to actively lead the Service Department, coach advisors and technicians, monitor workflow, and uphold an exceptional customer experience.

The ideal candidate has 3+ years of automotive dealership service experience, with 1–2 years in a leadership role; knowledge of fixed operations, repair orders, warranty, CSI, and CDK or similar DMS is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Lead service department operations: staffing, service delivery, warranty administration, client retention, cost controls, objective achievement, and records maintenance.
• Serve as liaison between Shop Foreman, Service Advisors, Parts Personnel, Technicians and Warranty Administration.
• Improve employee satisfaction, customer satisfaction and ROI through oversight and direction.
• Promote recruitment and development of Service Advisors and Technicians.
• Coordinate with manufacturers and factory reps to achieve objectives.
• Perform other duties and special projects as assigned.

Audi San Diego has an opportunity for an Assistant Service Manager to join the Holman family. We are looking for a hands‑on leader who can assist and actively manage the Service Department throughout the day, not simply oversee operations. The ideal candidate will coach and develop our advisors and technicians, monitor workflow and productivity, address issues in real time, and create accountability while maintaining an exceptional customer experience.

We offer competitive compensation that is commensurate with job‑related skills, experience, relevant education or training, and geographic location, in the range of $125,000 - $155,000 USD Annually.

What will you do?

• Offers and ensures that the shop offers the highest level of customer service
• Assists the service manager in managing all aspects of service department operations: staffing, provision of vehicle services, warranty administration, client retention, cost controls, achievement of objectives, and maintenance of all service records
• Serves as a liaison between the Shop Foreman, Service Advisors, Parts Personnel, Technicians and Warranty Administration
• Through communication, oversight and direction works to ensure employee satisfaction, customer satisfaction and return on investment
• Promotes the recruitment and development of some or all: Service Advisors, Service Porters, Service Assistants, Valet Drivers, Loaner Coordinators
• Liaison with the manufacturer; works with factory representative to achieve factory objectives
• Perform all other duties and special projects as assigned

What are we looking for

• 3+ years of automotive dealership service experience, with at least 1-2 years in a service leadership/management role
• Experience as an Assistant Service Manager, Service Manager, Service Director, or Shop/Service Operations Manager
• Strong understanding of fixed operations, including labor sales, technician productivity, repair orders, warranty, customer‑pay and internal work
• Proven experience managing Service Advisors and/or Technicians
• Experience monitoring and improving CSI
• Strong understanding of repair order flow, appointment scheduling, dispatching, and shop capacity
• Experience managing Open-to-Book (OTB), cycle time, productivity, and efficiency
• Experience with CDK or a comparable DMS
• Preferred Audi brand experience
• Audi training or certification
• Experience with Audi Warranty, parts/service operations, and manufacturer programs
• Experience leading process improvements that increased CSI, technician productivity, and/or departmental profitability

Pay:

The annual compensation range is comprised of base pay and bonus earnings.
