Dobbs Tire and Auto Centers in Waterloo, IL is seeking an Assistant Store Manager to support daily operations of our automotive service center. This full-time role offers a salary range of $65,000.00 to $85,000.00 annually and requires a hands-on leader with a strong service mindset.

The ideal candidate will guide staff, monitor KPIs, foster safety and efficiency, and ensure exceptional customer experiences while managing staffing and shop performance in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

• Assist the Store Manager in leading retail and service teams, including participation in hiring, performance management, coaching, corrective action, and compensation-related decisions.
• Support the direction of store staff in selling, servicing, and repairing vehicles to drive efficiency, quality, and profitability.
• Demonstrate a strong understanding of store performance KPIs, including gross profit, tire sales, and service revenue, and help lead the team toward achieving targets.
• Train, coach, and mentor employees on proper repair and maintenance procedures, customer service standards, and operational best practices.
• Create and maintain schedules for front-of-house and back-of-shop employees to ensure appropriate staffing during all operating hours, including store opening and closing.
• Review sales and operational performance data, identify opportunities for improvement, and assist in implementing strategies to achieve financial and operational goals.
• Support inventory management, including ordering, tracking, and accounting for equipment, replacement parts, and tires.
• Assist with general housekeeping, facility upkeep, and hands-on operational tasks as needed, including stocking, organizing, and other store support activities.
• Recommend and support technical training initiatives to promote continuous skill development across all technician levels.
• Ensure all store operations are conducted safely, efficiently, and in compliance with company policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements.
• Help foster a culture of safety, accountability, and operational excellence within the sales and service teams in partnership with the Store Manager.
• Maintain flexibility to work varied schedules, including early mornings, evenings, and weekends, to meet business and customer needs.
• Perform additional duties as assigned by leadership.
