Job summary

Amentum is seeking an Assistant Security Officer (CAC/SMS) for our Springfield, VA location. The role requires administering security regulations and ensuring compliance with DoD and customer guidelines. Interactions with Contractors and Government agencies on security and clearance matters are routine.

Schedule is Monday–Friday 7:00 am–3:30 pm with occasional Tuesday evenings. Compensation includes a base salary around the stated range and a benefits package.

Qualifications

• Associates Degree in Business Administration or Security and 0-1 years DoD security-related experience.
• An extra 2 years of IC Security related experience can replace the degree.
• Must be able to acquire and maintain access to Scattered Castle, M3/SMS, C-Cure 9000, MDI/PSAMS.
• Must possess and maintain an active TS/SCI clearance.
• US citizenship is required.
• Operating application software including word processing and spreadsheets.
• Preferred Bachelor’s Degree with 2 years Security Admin related experience.
• Ability to adapt to frequent change and a fast-paced environment.
• Ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.

Responsibilities

• Perform CAC duties and rotate to Briefing, Clearance Passing, and Front Desk as needed.
• Coordinate with FSO to ensure DoD clearance requirements are met.
• Produce accurate reports and manage multiple daily tasks.
• Manage transport of classified documents/equipment/media.
• Operate MS Office and maintain attention to detail.
• Adhere to DoD/NGA policies and timekeeping rules.
• Perform other security-related duties as assigned.
