Job summary

Minnesota-Sports-and-Entertainment seeks an Assistant Security Manager, Emergency Services to help develop and maintain disaster, safety and security plans for our Grand Casino Arena campus in Saint Paul, MN. You’ll work with the Director of Security and the Senior Manager of Event Security to ensure emergency management readiness for events and daily operations.

Requirements include a Bachelor's degree in a related field, NIMS certification, ability to pass background checks, and CPR/First Aid

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Emergency Management, Criminal Justice, Homeland Security, or a related field required; equivalent certifications and experience may be considered.
  • NIMS certified with experience applying standardized response and coordination practices.
  • Must be able to pass an Initial and Annual Background and Motor Vehicle Records check.
  • CPR, First Aid, and De-escalation Certification required, or willing to be trained within 120 days of hire.
  • Experience with EM protocols, exercises, and crowd control.
  • 1–3 years of experience in an emergency management-related field, preferably in a uniformed contract security company, military, or law enforcement.

Assistant Security Manager, Emergency Services:$27.00 - $29.00 per hour

Position Summary: The Assistant Security Manager, Emergency Services, works closely with the Director of Security and helps develop, implement, and maintain comprehensive disaster, safety, and security plans for our large-scale campus. They work closely with the Senior Manager of Event Security to ensure seamless Emergency Management (EM) preparedness for event operations. This position ensures the effective implementation of EM protocols and serves as a key liaison with law enforcement, fire departments, and venue security to maintain a safe, secure, and welcoming environment across our campus.

Position Requirements:
Formal Education & Certification:
  • Bachelor's degree in Emergency Management, Criminal Justice, Homeland Security, or a related field required; equivalent certifications and experience may be considered.
  • National Incident Management System (NIMS) certified with experience applying standardized response and coordination practices.
  • Must be able to pass an Initial and Annual Background and Motor Vehicle Records check.
  • CPR, First Aid, and De-escalation Certification required, or willing to be trained within 120 days of hire.

Knowledge & Experience:

  • Experience with EM protocols, exercises, and crowd control.
  • One to three years of experience in an emergency management-related field, and preferably experience in a uniformed contract security company, military, or law enforcement.
  • Knowledge of commonly used security processes and procedures.
  • Proven leadership experience leading teams, influencing stakeholders, and delivering results.

Work Conditions:
  • This position works irregular hours, including nights, weekends, and holidays, based on events.
  • Lifting requirements include being able to lift a minimum of 20 pounds and occasionally up to 50 pounds.
  • Physical requirements include sitting, walking, standing, bending, squatting, climbing, kneeling, twisting, lifting, grasping, etc., for the entirety of the shift.
  • Able to walk up and down steps.
