We are looking for an energetic, relationship-driven school leader who believes a great school experience is built both inside and outside the classroom. The Assistant School Leader & Student Experience Coordinator works alongside the School Leader to create a safe, engaging, well-organized campus where students feel connected, supported, and proud to belong.
This is a highly visible, hands-on leadership role that combines student experience, school culture, safety, and daily campus operations. From clubs, athletics, student leadership, and school traditions to student supervision, safety procedures, and operational support, this person helps ensure the campus is a place where students and staff can thrive.
What You Will Do
Lead Student Experience & School Culture
- Serve as a highly visible, positive, and approachable leader throughout the campus.
- Build strong relationships with students while maintaining clear expectations and accountability in a college prep culture.
- Develop and support student activities, celebrations, traditions, spirit events, assemblies, and other campus experiences.
- Create opportunities for student leadership, voice, service, and involvement.
- Increase student participation, belonging, school pride, and connection while building interest and education around after high school planning.
- Support students through mentoring, restorative conversations, re-entry meetings, and proactive interventions.
- Partner with families regarding student attendance, behavior, engagement, and school involvement.
Support School Safety & Daily Operations
- Partner with the School Leader to maintain a safe, orderly, and welcoming learning environment.
- Maintain a visible leadership presence during arrival, dismissal, passing periods, lunch, activities, and other high-traffic times.
- Help implement and reinforce campus safety procedures, emergency protocols, supervision expectations, and school policies.
- Identify and respond appropriately to student, staff, facility, or operational safety concerns.
- Support student behavior and discipline processes with an emphasis on consistency, accountability, restoration, and successful re-entry.
Bring Clubs, Athletics & Extracurricular Programs to Life
- Promote extracurricular opportunities and encourage student participation.
- Coordinate athletic schedules and communicate event information to students, families, staff, and stakeholders.
- Promote sportsmanship, school spirit, and positive participation at athletic events.
- Coordinate transportation, supervision, permission forms, and other logistics related to activities, athletics, field trips, and special events.
Support College & Career Readiness
- Help build a college and career-going culture throughout the campus.
- Support students with post-secondary planning, including college research, applications, admissions requirements, scholarships, financial aid, and career exploration.
- Coordinate college fairs, campus visits, career experiences, and other post-secondary readiness opportunities.
- Connect students with resources and opportunities that support their goals after high school.

The ideal candidate:
- Has successful experience working with school-age students, preferably at the middle or high school level.
- Builds authentic relationships while maintaining clear expectations and professional boundaries.
- Understands the importance of school safety, student supervision, consistent expectations, and effective campus operations.
- Is comfortable addressing student behavior and having difficult conversations with students and families.
- Is highly organized and able to manage multiple programs, schedules, events, and priorities.
- Communicates effectively with students, families, staff, coaches, community partners, and school leadership.
- Takes initiative, anticipates needs, and looks for solutions rather than waiting to be told what to do.
- Believes clubs, athletics, leadership, service, and post-secondary preparation are essential parts of a student's educational experience.
Qualifications: EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE (positions in this class typically require):
- Master’s Degree in education leadership (preferred)
- Valid State of Arizona IVP Arizona Fingerprint Clearance Card
- Aspirations to grow into heightened levels of leadership
- Demonstrated ability to facilitate individual and small group interactions; one or more years successful experience in a school setting addressing student conduct issues.
- General knowledge of education law and student rights and responsibilities, as acquired through prior experience.
- Effective communication skills required, both verbal and written; strong ability to communicate diplomatically and persuasively in emotionally charged situations. Bi-lingual preferred. (Spanish/English)
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
Positions in this class typically require: stooping, kneeling, crouching, reaching, standing, walking, pushing, pulling, lifting, finger dexterity, grasping, talking, hearing, seeing, and repetitive motions.
Medium Work:
Exerting up to 50 pounds of force occasionally, and/or up to 20 pounds of force frequently, and/or up to 10 pounds of force constantly to move objects.
Incumbents may be subjected to moving mechanical parts, odors, chemicals, extreme temperatures, inadequate lighting, workspace restrictions, and intense noises.
