Job summary

Cloacina is seeking an Assistant Sales Manager in California to drive client management, nurture relationships, and grow revenue from assigned accounts. This role supports project coordination, prepares proposals, and communicates across teams to ensure successful outcomes.

The ideal candidate will have strong written and verbal skills, experience with CRM software, and the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced manufacturing environment. This position reports to the Sales Manager.

General Statement of Duties

This is compelling opportunity for a driven individual with extensive client management skills, looking to excel in a fast-paced manufacturing company. The Cloacina Sales Team is the primary driver of revenue, and the Assistant Sales Manager plays a lead role in representing the company, developing and managing relationships and growing revenue from assigned clients.

Works under the general supervision of the Sales Manager.

Supervision Exercised

Training and/or supervision of other employees may vary from time to time and are at the discretion of the Sales Manager.

Typical Duties Performed
  • Attend project calls and be the initial point of contact for scheduling and notetaking
  • Respond to general email questions and provide resources as necessary
  • Attend site visits, installation tours, in-person meetings, and virtual video calls
  • Develop professional relationships and consider business development opportunities in the industry
  • Work within a basis of design provided by the Sales Manager
  • Support the Sales Manager on project related questions and supporting documentation
  • Communicate project related questions and deliverables to the Sales Manager
  • Maintain proposal documentation and templates and ensure conformity to requests for quotations
  • Utilize the structure of the proposal documentation and templates on the server
  • Generate sales proposals compatible with our technology as determined by the Sales Manager
  • Summarize project information and opportunities for management review and decision making
  • Maintain functions within Cloacina to monitor clients' request for quotes, maintain visibility of contract requirements by the responsible departments and ensure the requests for quotes are moving in a timely manner through the system
  • Leverage CRM workflows and email automation so Sales has reminders to follow up with tracked opportunities
  • Perform administrative tasks related to tradeshow and/or event planning at the discretion of the Sales Manager
  • Routinely check in with vendors for product pricing and lead times
  • Maintain the internal data bases for proposal authorizations, product information, quotations and activity reports
  • Maintain contract files and logs
  • Coordinate with the Sales Manager and provide them with support when required
  • Ping new inquiries or opportunities for constant diligent follow up
  • Prepare proposals, product announcements and literature as required for new and existing clients
  • Provide feedback on Customer Relationship Management (CRM) software efficiencies
  • Prepare reports on account status
  • Attend trade shows and other events at the discretion of the Sales Manager
Qualification Requirements

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Able to respond to and handle challenges in a professional and solutions-oriented manner
  • Proven work experience as an Account Manager, Sales Account Manager, Program/Project Manager or other relevant role
  • Proficient in computer software programs such as Salesforce, Zoho, Microsoft Word, Excel, MS Schedule. Experience with AutoCAD is preferred but not required.
  • Water and wastewater industry experience is a plus

It is imperative that employees wear proper Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) and follow safety protocols. While not mandatory, it is also highly recommended that employees stay current with vaccinations, including Hepatitis A, Hepatitis B, Tetanus, and Diphtheria.
