Our Leadership Tenets guide everything we do:

Own It | Lead with Respect | Win as One Team | Learn and Elevate | Leave Them Better

Position Summary

The Assistant Rooms Division Manager supports the Director of Rooms in leading the daily operations of the Front Desk and Housekeeping departments. This hands‑on leadership role ensures operational excellence, delivers exceptional guest experiences, and leads by example while embodying Hotel Saint Vincent’s Leadership Tenets.

Key Responsibilities

Own It

We take responsibility for outcomes, not excuses.

  • Oversee daily operations for Front Desk and Housekeeping, ensuring front office agents, bellmen, housekeepers, public area attendants, housemen, minibar attendants, turndown attendants, and engineers complete their daily duties according to checklists and service standards.
  • Monitor Alice requests and hold the team to a 15‑minute response standard, closing the loop with the guest every time.
  • Serve as Manager on Duty when needed. Take the lead during emergency situations, including completing first responder training with the Director of Rooms and the Director of Engineering.
  • Report glitch tickets accurately and promptly. A glitch that goes unreported cannot be fixed, and the pattern behind it stays invisible.
  • Assist with purchasing and receiving of operational supplies, maintaining par levels before shortages become service failures.
  • When a problem surfaces on your shift, it is yours until it is resolved or properly handed off. Escalate early, but never as a substitute for action.
Lead with Respect

We treat people, ideas, and commitments with dignity.

  • Assist with scheduling for all hourly positions in the Rooms division, building schedules that are operationally savvy, but also fair, predictable, and published on time.
  • Ensure shifts and lunch breaks are covered. Breaks are a commitment we made to our team members, not a courtesy we extend when volume allows.
  • Give direct, timely feedback in the moment rather than saving it for a review. Correct privately, recognize publicly.
  • Listen to the team before deciding. The housekeeper working the room and the agent taking the call usually know the real obstacle.
  • Honor what you tell your team you will do, including follow‑through on requests, time off, and issues they raise with you.
Win as One Team

We succeed together.

  • Operate Front Desk, Housekeeping, and Engineering as one Rooms operation rather than as separate departments.
  • Attend leadership meetings as appropriate and pass along pertinent information to the rest of the team. Information that stops with you is information the hotel loses.
  • Communicate proactively with Food and Beverage, Sales, and Engineering on VIP arrivals, group movements, and anything affecting the guest experience across departments.
  • Step in where the need is, including stripping a room, running a bag, or covering the desk. Nothing in this operation is beneath the role.
Learn and Elevate

We grow ourselves and others every day.

  • Coach, mentor, and develop the team to sustain high productivity and consistent standards.
  • Train new team members thoroughly and verify comprehension rather than assuming it.
  • Build depth in the department through cross‑training so the operation does not depend on any single person being present.
  • Seek feedback on your own leadership from your team, your peers, and your superiors, and act on it.
  • Treat mistakes, yours included, as material for the next training rather than grounds for blame.
Leave Them Better

We make every interaction meaningful.

  • Inspect arrival, stayover, and turndown rooms for quality, consistency, and style. Style is part of the standard at this hotel, not an extra.
  • Walk public areas throughout the shift to monitor cleanliness, supply levels, and presentation, addressing needs directly with the team on the floor.
  • Ensure guest expectations are met to excellence standards and that the room a guest walks into reflects what we promised them.
  • Follow up personally with guests who experienced a service opportunity. This is a core expectation of the role, not an occasional gesture. Own the recovery through resolution.
  • Look for the personalization that turns a good stay into one worth telling someone about, and empower the team to do the same.

Qualifications

  • Minimum two years of hotel operations or Rooms Division leadership experience preferred.
  • Strong leadership, organizational, and problem‑solving skills.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead with professionalism, accountability, and a guest‑first mindset.
  • Ability to build collaborative relationships across departments and lead by example.
  • Ability to prioritize multiple responsibilities in a fast‑paced luxury hospitality environment.
  • Flexible schedule, including evenings, weekends, and holidays as business needs require.
  • Experience with hotel property management systems, ALICE, and guest service platforms preferred.

Compensation & Benefits

  • Annual Salary: $55,000
  • Bonus Potential
  • Unlimited Paid Time Off
  • MML Property Discounts (Hotel, Restaurant, Retail)
  • Medical, Dental, Vision, Disability, and Life Insurance
  • 401(k)
  • Parental Leave
