Job summary

Hudson Group in Los Angeles is seeking an Assistant Multi-Unit Manager to support retail operations across multiple locations and act as a liaison between Shift Managers and senior leadership.

You will ensure consistent execution of operational standards, coach and schedule staff, monitor performance metrics, and coordinate inventory and brand compliance to drive guest satisfaction and revenue growth.

Qualifications

  • Education and leadership experience required; minimum 4 years in retail operations or related roles.
  • 2 years of supervising a team in retail operations.
  • 4–6 years retail ops experience in store management, merchandising, and customer service.

Responsibilities

  • Audit SOP adherence and enforce corrective actions.
  • Coach and schedule shifts; monitor coverage and engagement behaviors.
  • Analyze operational and financial data to meet unit goals and provide insights.
  • Oversee daily inventory, coordinate with vendors, ensure proper receiving/processing.
  • Review timekeeping and monitor overtime for compliance with labor laws.
  • Maintain brand standards and store presentation; train associates on compliance.
  • Resolve customer and associate issues; implement strategies to boost satisfaction and revenue.
  • Conduct on-the-job training and communicate initiatives across teams.
  • Ensure safety and regulatory compliance; train staff on safety protocols.

Purpose:The purpose of theAssistant Multi-Unit Managerposition is to provide operational support and oversightforretail operations, serving as a key management layer between Shift Managers and Multi-Unit Management.This role ensures consistent execution of operational standards, supports staff development, andmaintainsaccountability for performance metrics while serving as a key communication link between front-line management and senior leadership.

Essential Functions:

Ensures strict adherence to all retail operations Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) by conducting regular audits, holding Shift Managers and hourly team members accountable for operational checklist compliance, and implementing corrective actions when deviations areidentified;maintainsconsistent operational standards across assigned areas through systematic monitoring, documentation, and enforcement of established protocols

Provides coaching, support, and performance feedback to Shift Managers and retail associates while ensuring proper scheduling, coverage, and adherence to company engagement behaviors

Monitors and analyzes operational and financial data to support achievement of unit goals, implements corrective actions as needed, and provides insights to Multi-Unit Manager on performance trends

Overseesdaily inventory procedures, coordinates with vendors on supply chain issues,maintainsequipment functionality, and ensures proper receiving and processing procedures are followed

Reviews and approves timekeeping punches for assigned shifts and monitors overtime accumulation of hourly team members to ensure compliance with labor laws and supports operational budget objectives

Maintains working knowledge of brand standards and lease agreements, ensures visual merchandising and store presentation meet requirements, and provides training to associates on brand compliance

Resolves complex customer and associate issues using sound judgment, ensures exceptional service delivery, and implements strategies to enhance customer satisfaction and revenue generation

Conducts on-the-job training for associates and Shift Managers, communicates companyinitiativesand changes, and serves as liaison between front-line staff and Multi-Unit Manager

Ensures all federal, state, and local safety and health standards are understood and followed, trains staff on safety protocols, andmaintainscompliance with all regulatory requirements

Maintainsproficiencyin management systems (MIV, Crunch Time, Kronos), embracesnew technologyimplementations, and trains associates on system usage and best practices

Implements marketing programs and promotional activities as directed,developscreative revenue-enhancement strategies, andprovidesoperational support to achieve business objectives

TheAssistant Multi-Unit Managerposition falls under the Fair Labor Standards Act as an Exempt position, under both the Administrative Exemption and the Executive Exemption tests

TheAssistant Multi-Unit Managerposition requires varied scheduling with presence during different operational periods tomonitorand support Shift Manager activities across various days and times

Minimum Qualifications, Knowledge, Skills, and Work Environment:

Education and Experience: The combination of education and professional experience must exceed4years:

In a leadership role: Requires 2 years of experience supervising a team of retail operations professionals engaged in executing multi-unit retail management programs

In a technical role: Requires4-6years of retail operations experience engaged in developing and delivering store management, merchandising, and customer service programs

Abachelor's degree in Business Administration, Retail Management, Marketing, or related program can count for2of the4-year requirement

Specialized Training:

Knowledge of state and federal retail, employment, safety, and consumer protection regulations and statutes

Strong knowledge of retail inventory management, planogram execution, and visual merchandising standards

Proficiencyin retail technology platforms including POS systems, inventory management software, scheduling systems, and reporting tools

Ability to analyze retail KPIs including sales per square foot, inventory turnover, shrink rates, and customer conversion metrics

Understanding of retail space optimization, category management, and seasonal merchandising strategies

Business acumen with retail operations mindsetrequiredto understand the long-term implications of merchandising, inventory management, and customer experience planning to advance organizational goals

Demonstrated history of understanding the needs of retail business operations, brand partners, landlord stakeholders, the retail associate population, and individual store circumstances

Demonstrated history ofcreating andmaintainingpositive work environmentsthroughcoaching, developing, and leading teamsto achieve common goals
