Job Title: Retail Assistant Manager
About The Position

The Store Assistant Manager is responsible for supporting the retail, production, and material handling teams. Working with the store manager and supervisors, this individual provides leadership to ensure team satisfaction and financial goals are met.

Pay Range

$58,000-61,000/year DOE

Essential Functions And Responsibilities
  1. Understand operational metrics; implement plans to achieve goals.
  2. Discuss the business operations and results knowledgeably.
  3. Maximize sales through proper stock rotation, merchandising, signage, and inventory management.
  4. Ensure a continuous flow of product and provide excellent customer assortment.
  5. Deliver excellent customer service internally and externally.
  6. Develop strong relationships across the enterprise; partner effectively.
  7. Attract, hire, develop, inspire, and retain top talent.
  8. Promote diversity, equity, and inclusion; support all voices.
  9. Ensure compliance with Goodwill policies and procedures across various departments.
Supervisory Responsibilities

Supervises staff in accordance with policies and laws, including hiring, training, performance monitoring, and addressing employee concerns. Partners with People Relations as needed.

Education and Experience
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • 3+ years retail leadership experience.
  • 2+ years leading a sales team in a customer-centric environment.
  • Ability to engage with customers and understand their needs.
  • Knowledge of budget metrics and P+L management for at least 1 year.
Certificates, Licenses, or Registrations
  • Valid Washington Driver’s License, proof of insurance, and a good driving record.
Skills and Abilities
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Ability to learn new technology and software.
  • Physical ability to lift 20-30 pounds, stand for long periods, and operate computer systems.
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills, including with limited English speakers.
  • Strong organizational, problem-solving, and leadership skills.
  • Ability to analyze data and prioritize tasks.
Work Environment

Typically exposed to retail noise levels, with occasional outdoor work. Reliable transportation required for offsite travel. Flexible schedule including nights and weekends.
