Job summary

Hotel Viking Newport seeks an Assistant Restaurant Manager to lead daily restaurant operations, supervise staff, and ensure exceptional service and culinary excellence. You will collaborate with the culinary team, manage scheduling and training, and drive guest satisfaction in a fast-paced luxury setting.

Ideal candidates bring 2–3 years of supervisory experience in hotel F&B, strong communication, and a commitment to safety and quality.

Qualifications

• 2-3 years supervisory or management experience, prior hotel F&B experience preferred
• Excellent communication with customers and team members
• Strong problem solving skills and conflict resolution abilities
• Experience with scheduling, payroll and labor management
• Experience with MICROS POS system
• Serve Safe, TIPS, CARE, or CPR certifications preferred
• Hepatitis A vaccination within 10 days of hire preferred
• Able to work AM and PM shifts

Responsibilities

• Assist in managing restaurant operations, including staff supervision, scheduling, and training
• Ensure high standards of food quality, presentation, and service are maintained
• Collaborate with culinary team to develop and execute menu offerings
• Monitor guest feedback to continually improve the dining experience
• Uphold sanitation and safety regulations to provide a clean and hygienic environment
• Foster a positive work culture and motivate the team to deliver exceptional service
• Handle guest inquiries, complaints, and requests promptly and professionally
• Assist in managing inventory, ordering supplies, and controlling costs
