Hobbs Brook Real Estate LLC's Four Points by Sheraton Norwood is seeking an Assistant Restaurant Manager to lead daily restaurant operations, coaching staff, and ensuring warm, consistent service in a 230-room hotel.

In partnership with the Restaurant Manager, you will create weekly schedules, train staff, supervise POS systems (MICROS/Symphony), OpenTable, and ensure safety and quality. This is a full-time role requiring 2+ years of hospitality management and the ability to lift 50 pounds.

Qualifications

  • 2+ years of restaurant management experience.

Responsibilities

  • Lead, coach, and support restaurant associates to deliver thoughtful hospitality.

  • Maintain procedures, standards, and compliance with health and safety rules.
  • Assist staffing, onboarding, and performance conversations with the Restaurant Manager.
  • Coordinate front- and back-of-house communication to improve service flow.
  • Respond to guest and associate needs with care and professionalism.
  • Oversee food & beverage controls, cash handling, and end-of-day reporting.
  • Collaborate on promotions, meetings, and events; perform MOD shifts when needed.

This position is based at the Four Points by Sheraton Hotel & Conference Center in Norwood, MA. The property is owned by Hobbs Brook Real Estate LLC, the real estate division of FM, offering a dynamic hospitality environment with strong organizational support.

The Four Points by Sheraton Norwood Hotel & Conference Center features 230 modern, smoke-free guestrooms, including allergy-friendly options, along with complimentary Wi‑Fi, parking, and access to the fitness center and indoor pool. With 28 meeting rooms and 40,000 square feet of event space, the hotel is well‑suited for meetings and conferences of all sizes, and the Tiffany Ballroom to cater social events. Guests can enjoy dining at One Bistro or the daily breakfast buffet at Zachariah’s. Convenient Norwood location provides easy access to Boston, Providence, Gillette Stadium, Legacy Place, and nearby commuter rail and Amtrak service.

Shift Hours

Full time Salaried position with a minimum of 40 hours a week. We require open availability to align for business needs. This includes availability for day, nights, weekends and Holidays.

  • This is a 24/7 operation, so holiday coverage is required
  • Christmas Day is the only exception unless an event is scheduled.
  • Flexibility is offered to take alternate days off when holidays are worked

The ideal candidate is a hands‑on hospitality leader who enjoys coachingassociates, buildingthoughtfulschedules, supporting training, using restaurant technologywith confidence, and stepping inwhereverneeded to help the teamdeliver warm, consistent service. In the Restaurant Manager’s absence, this roleservesas the on‑site leader for restaurant operations.

These duties include
  • Lead, coach, and support restaurantassociates,so they feel prepared, valued, and empowered to deliver thoughtful hospitality.
  • Create and manage weekly schedules that align staffing with business needs for One Bistro and 117 private dining.
  • Support hands‑on training that helpsassociatesunderstand service standards, safety expectations, guest care, and the details thatcreateaseamlessdining experience.
  • Use restaurant technology, including POS, reservation, menu, reporting, and Microsoft Office tools, to support daily operations andaccuratecommunication.
  • Maintain restaurant procedures, brand standards, and compliance with licensing, hygiene, health, and safetyexpectations with integrity and consistency.
  • Support staffing, onboarding, performance conversations, and team development in partnership with the Restaurant Manager.
  • Coordinate front- and back‑of‑house communication to improve service flow, guest experience, and operational efficiency.
  • Respond toguestsand associate needs with care, professionalism, sound judgement, and a genuine service mindset.
  • Oversee food and beverage controls, cash handling, end‑of‑day reporting, product procurement, and other administrative responsibilities.
  • Partnerinpromotions, departmental meetings, pre‑shift communication, private dining needs, andspecial events.
  • Perform Manager on Duty shifts for the hotel and conference center as needed.
Qualifications
  • 2+ years of restaurant management experience, ideally in a hotel, full‑service restaurant, or similar hospitality environment.
  • Experience creating team schedules, supporting staffing needs, and adjusting plans based on business volume.
  • Demonstrated experience training, coaching, and developing team members in service standards, safety requirements, and operational procedures.
  • Comfort using restaurant and business technology, including POS systems such as MICROS/Symphony, reservation platforms such as OpenTable, menu platforms, Microsoft Outlook, Excel, and Word.
  • Strong communicationskills with the ability to connect with guests, team members, supervisors, and cross‑functional partners.
  • Ability to lead with warmth, professionalism, flexibility, and carewhile helping create an environment where guests and associates feel welcome and respected.
  • Working knowledge of cost controls, inventory, cash handling, service quality, and food and beverage operations.
  • Strong organization and time management skills with the ability to prioritize competing needs.
  • Ability to lift and carry items up to 50 pounds as part of regular restaurant operations.
Education
  • High School Diploma/GED or equivalent experience considered
  • Tips and SERV Safe Certified required
Salary and Benefits

The hiring range for this position is $68,000 - $84,000 a year. The final salary offer will vary based on geographic location, individual education, skills, and experience. The position is eligible to participate in FM’s comprehensive Total Rewards program that includes an incentive plan, medical, dental and vision insurance, life and disability insurance, well‑being programs, a 401(k) and pension plan, career development opportunities, tuition reimbursement, flexible work, and time off, including vacation and sick time. Eligible for Marriott employee discount at participating hotels with successful completion of ongoing trainings.
