Description

We are hiring an Assistant Restaurant Manager.

Pay Range: $47,868.75 to $59,835.94

Join us at The Rooftop at Exchange Place, located atop the Hyatt House Jersey City, as we relaunch our rooftop bar, Terrace restaurant, and banquet space. We seek a talented leader to oversee these areas and develop a team of service-minded professionals.

Our venue offers stunning views of Manhattan, overlooking the Hudson River, and features a high-energy rooftop cocktail bar, an upscale dining room, and over 7,500 square feet of banquet space for events, all with spectacular views of Manhattan, the Hudson, and the Statue of Liberty.

Responsibilities:

  1. Provide guests with friendly, professional service, ensuring excellent food quality, value, and consistency in an attractive environment.
  2. Ensure timely meal delivery with attention to plating, portion, and temperature.
  3. Develop strategies for cost savings, labor retention, and associate development aligned with financial goals.
  4. Train staff thoroughly in service procedures and product knowledge, including ongoing development programs.
  5. Evaluate restaurant service performance daily and conduct employee discussions and evaluations.
  6. Coordinate food production and work with the Chef to ensure quality and presentation.
  7. Participate in food product evaluation and staff performance reviews.
  8. Manage liquor and wine selection, pricing, and procurement.
  9. Assist in creating and meeting financial objectives through budgeting and marketing efforts.
  10. Control costs related to sales and payroll, and supervise service employees according to organizational policies and laws.
