Job summary

Highgate Hotels, owner and operator of the The Joule Dallas, seeks an Assistant Restaurant General Manager to oversee daily restaurant operations at the iconic venue. You will lead and train the FOH team, uphold Forbes standards, and maintain service excellence for guests in a luxury setting.

Qualifications

• At least 3 years of progressive experience in a hotel or related field; or a 4-year college degree and at least 1 year of related experience; or a 2-year college degree and 2+ years of related experience.
• Knowledge of F&B preparation techniques, health department rules and liquor laws/regulations.
• Long hours sometimes required.
• Medium work – lifting up to 50 pounds occasionally, 20 pounds frequently.
• Effective communication, both verbal and written, with all staff and guests.
• Ability to multitask and prioritize departmental functions to meet deadlines.
• Approach all encounters with guests and employees in a service-oriented manner.

Responsibilities

• Assist Restaurant General Manager in exceeding budgeted goals (labor and beverage costs).
• Assist Restaurant General Manager with management of all FOH staff (training, counseling, disciplining, performance reviews).
• Ensure compliance with standards, laws/regulations, food handling/sanitation standards and liquor laws.
• Assist in recruiting and retaining a service team committed to guest satisfaction.
• Contribute to guest-centric initiatives to improve the overall guest experience.
• Conduct monthly inventory and month-end processes.
• Ensure maintenance of 100% restaurant and bar equipment.
• Assist with weekly GEM meeting reports/trends/actions.
• Review product and service audits with Restaurant GM; address concerns/trends.
• Review and approve payroll timecards prior to payroll Monday.
• Order all operational supplies as needed.
• Prepare and communicate weekly FOH schedules.
• Ensure weekly cleaning projects are completed.
• Lead by example and promote company culture and Forbes standards.
• Provide hands-on operational support as needed.
• Follow up with guest issues and communicate with leadership team.
• Ensure daily Pre-Shift meetings and Shift reports are happening.
