Job summary

Children's Healthcare of Atlanta is seeking a Respiratory Clinical Leader to manage day-to-day operations in the Respiratory department during night shifts. The role supports safe patient care and staff development within a leading pediatric hospital.

The position requires three years of clinical experience, leadership background, and relevant licensure/certifications. You will lead initiatives, coordinate resources, and maintain high standards of care across teams.

Job Description

Facilitates and manages day-to-day operations of the department, including fiscal and human resources processes. Supports and ensures that comprehensive patient care services are being provided that support the integrity of the family system and patient care team. Proactively supports efforts that ensure delivery of safe patient care and services and promote a safe environment at Children's Healthcare of Atlanta.

Experience
  • 3 years of clinical experience
Preferred Qualifications
  • Previous experience as Respiratory Clinical Resource, Preceptor, or Lead/Supervisor
  • Previous leadership experience within a healthcare setting
Education
  • Bachelor of Science, or Bachelor of Arts degree
Certification Summary
  • Registered Respiratory Therapist certified by National Board of Respiratory Care (NBRC)
  • Current license in the state of Georgia as a Respiratory Care Professional
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from the American Heart Association within 30 days of employment
  • Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) certification from the American Heart Association within 12 months of hire
  • Secondary certification for Respiratory Therapy by the National Board of Respiratory Care (NBRC), within 1 year of hire
  • Active Member of American Association of Respiratory Care (AARC) with subspeciality

Mandatory Requirements
  • Successfully completes unit- and department-specific orientation and submits required documentation of completion, as applicable.
  • Completes mandatory education requirements as defined by unit and system by due date.
  • Achieves 75% attendance at staff meetings as applicable
  • Maintains minimum of 15 continuing education units (CEUs)/hours per year plus an additional 5 hours of job-related education
  • Actively participates as a member of a department, unit, campus, or system-based council, or committee
