Job summary

The Salvation Army Greenville, SC Area Command is seeking a capable supervisor to oversee day-to-day operations of resident facilities and staff in the absence of the Resident Manager. The role plans and enforces policies, supervises staff, and ensures safety within the center.

Responsibilities include training staff, monitoring client progress, maintaining orderly living quarters, and upholding program standards. A valid driver’s license and strong English communication are required.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED with two years of supervisory experience preferred or equivalent.
  • Valid Driver’s License.
  • Knowledge of general building maintenance practices.
  • Ability to read and understand manuals; communicate effectively in English.

  • Acts as lead worker to resident staff; trains and instructs employees in proper methods and procedures.
  • Monitors progress of clients in the program and ensures compliance with standards.
  • Enforces house rules and maintains security of the center.

Location: The Salvation Army Greenville, SC Area Command - Greenville, SCPosition Type: Hourly / Temporary Full-timePay Range: $15.00About this opportunity:This position assists in supervising the day-to-day operations and staff of the centers resident facilities in the absence of the Resident Manager; monitors clients progress in the program and ensures compliance with program standards; enforces house rules and ensures overall security of the center; ensures that resident facilities are maintained in a neat and orderly manner; administers alcohol and drug tests as needed; serves as lead worker to resident staff.Key responsibilities:Serves as lead worker to resident staff; trains and instructs employees in the proper methods and procedures; monitors work in progress and upon completion to ensure accuracy, completeness, and compliance with established policies and procedures.Supervises, observes, and monitors progress of clients living in the center residence; provides crisis intervention counseling with clients as necessary.Trains clients in performing housekeeping and kitchen duties; monitors work in progress and upon completion to ensure completeness.Enforces house rules in order to maintain order and peace among the clients; monitors and ensures overall security of the center during evening and early morning hours; reports violations of house rules in writing to the Resident Manager.Monitors the front desk operations to ensure that The Salvation Army is represented in a positive and professional manner ensuring the security of the property, staff, and clients.Inspects dorms, canteen, and television room routinely to ensure they are maintained in a neat and orderly manner; notifies clients in violation of housekeeping standards and provides instructions for corrective action.Administers random alcohol and drug tests as needed; inspects living quarters for prohibited contraband.Maintains a positive working atmosphere by acting and communicating in a professional manner that will establish and promote a professional working relationship with vendors, donors, customers, beneficiaries, co-workers, and management.What are we looking for in you:High school diploma or G.E.D. with two years of supervisory experience preferred ORAny equivalent combination of training experience which provides the required knowledge, skills, and abilities.Valid Driver’s License.Knowledge of general building maintenance practices and procedures.Knowledge, skills and ability to successfully communicate, both verbally and in writing, in the English language.Ability to read and comprehend manuals and written instructions.Ability to alphabetize, organize, and maintain various files.Physical Requirements and Working Conditions:Ability to meet attendance requirements.
