Job summary

ACHIEVE NY in Broome County, NY is seeking an Assistant Residence Manager on a full-time 2nd shift. The role offers pay between $21.50 and $22.75 per hour with comprehensive benefits and PTO.

The position provides supervision, training, and daily household management for residents receiving services, with opportunities to advance in human services careers. You will train DSP staff, guide residents in personal care and budgeting, and help coordinate activities.

Qualifications

• Associate's degree with two or more years of experience working with the OPWDD population preferred, or equivalent education/experience.
• Valid driver’s license acceptable to the agency’s insurance carrier.

Responsibilities

• Train, supervise, and direct DSP staff while on shift, reporting personnel issues to the Program Manager/administration.
• Provide training and assistance to residents to develop personal care and independent living skills.
• Develop and provide social/recreational activities for residents.
• Supervise residents at the IRA and in the community as appropriate.
• Manage resident money, budgeting, banking, and purchases per procedures.
• Oversee residents’ personal allowances according to agency procedures.
• Intervene in crises per policy; provide first aid as needed.
• Ensure Medication Administration steps and documentation are followed by DSPs.
• Monitor residents’ diet and nutritional needs; arrange transportation as required.
• Accompany residents to medical appointments and complete required follow-up docs.
• Clean the IRA and contents as instructed; act as role model for staff and residents.
• Perform fire drills and document results; participate in on-call coverage as needed.
