Job summary

Devereux Connecticut is seeking an Assistant Residence Manager to oversee daily residence operations, lead shifts in the Residence Manager's absence, and assist in ISP/IPP planning. Responsibilities include medication certification maintenance, documentation, inventories, payroll support, and meal supervision.

The role emphasizes a passion for helping individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities, a valid CT Driver's License, and a flexible, energetic approach.

Qualifications

  • Associate degree or higher preferred; HS diploma required.
  • 1 year of relevant experience preferred.
  • Valid CT Driver's License.
  • Must be 21+ and passionate about helping individuals with disabilities.
  • Ability to lift up to 70 pounds and perform physical tasks.

Responsibilities

  • Operate daily operations of assigned residence; act as shift leader.
  • Plan and implement ISP/IPP plans.
  • Maintain CT DDS medication certification and dispense medication as assigned.
  • Complete required documentation (logs, MyAvatar, staff communication logs, data collection, bed checks).
  • Manage client clothing and property inventories.
  • Complete wage spreadsheets and banking with RM during pay periods.
  • Supervise and assist with house meals.

Key Responsibilities
  • Implement the daily operation of the assigned residence and function as shift leader in the absence of the Residence Manager.
  • Assist in the planning and carry out of ISP/IPP Plans.
  • Maintain mandated CT DDS medication certification and will dispense medication as assigned.
  • Ensures all required documentation is completed, which includes, but is not limited to, daily logs, MyAvatar, staff communication logs, data collection, bed checks.
  • Responsible for student / resident clothing and property inventories.
  • Complete client/house money ledgers as spending occurs in conjunction with the RM
  • Complete wage spreadsheet and banking as pay checks are received in conjunction with the Residence Manager.
  • Supervise and assist with house meals.
Location: Washington, CT
Salary:

Starting at $23.50 hourly (commensurate with education and experience)

Qualifications
  • Associate degree or higher degree (BS/BA) preferred. High School diploma/GED required
  • 1 year of relevant experience preferred.
  • Have a valid CT Driver's License.
  • Be flexible, patient, energetic, and creative.
  • Must be a minimum of 21 years of age.
  • Have a strong passion for working with and helping children and adults with special needs.
Physical Requirements
  • Ability to sit, stand, walk, and bend, and move throughout the workday
  • Ability to lift, push, pull, or assist with up to 70 pounds as needed
  • Ability to assist with emergency responses, including evacuations or crisis situations.
