Duties & Responsibilities
- Conduct independent cardiovascular research in the Translational Cardiovascular Research Center (TCRC) and to provide technical and logistic support for the Center.
- Publish high impact scientific research in the area of cardiovascular science.
- Develop collaborations with pertinent faculty within the college and partner institutions.
- Contribute to the teaching and service missions of the college.
- Engage in academic activities.
- Other duties as assigned.
Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities
- Cardiovascular cell and molecular biology, including use of animal models, organ models and cultured cell models of cutting edge research in the field.
- State-of-the-art confocal microscopy.
- Genomics and proteomics data acquisition and analysis
- Ability to write, review and edit research papers and grant applications.
- Exhibit outstanding interpersonal communication and professionalism.
Minimum Qualifications
- Hold a PhD or MD/PhD in a related field, such as Anatomy, Biology, Cell Biology, Molecular Biology or Pharmacology, from an accredited university.
Preferred Qualifications
- Demonstrated experience studying cardiovascular disease.
- Experience mentoring students and trainees in research projects.
- Experience with cell culture, animal studies, microscopy, genomics and proteomics.
- Publications of cardiovascular research in high-impact journals relevant to the field.
