APPLICATION INSTRUCTIONS:
The laboratory of Elizabeth Elacqua in the Department of Chemistry at The Pennsylvania State University seeks to fill a position for an Assistant Research Professor focused on organic synthesis and polymer chemistry. Projects involve developing novel approaches to synthesize conjugated polymers via olefin metathesis polymerization, catalyst development, and utilizing folded polymers for light-mediated catalysis.
The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in one or more of the following areas: synthetic polymer chemistry, controlled polymerizations, organic and organometallic synthetic methodology, catalysis, ring-opening metathesis polymerization, carbon-based materials, and polymer characterization.
Applicants must have a Ph.D. in a relevant field by the start date. The individual should be highly self-motivated, capable of leading independent projects, and contributing to collaborative research efforts.
