Northwest Florida real estate development and management company is seeking an Assistant Accounting Manager to lead accounting operations across multiple entities. This hands-on role covers month-end close, financial reporting, reconciliations, budgeting support, and policy compliance within a dynamic portfolio.

The ideal candidate will have at least five years of senior accounting experience, strong GAAP knowledge, ERP and Excel proficiency, and demonstrated supervisory capabilities to guide

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in accounting is required; Master’s coursework preferred.
• Minimum 5 years of senior progressive accounting experience including supervisory responsibilities.
• Strong knowledge of GAAP and financial reporting.
• Proficiency with ERP systems and accounting software.
• Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and financial reporting tools.
• Excellent analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to work on-site in an office environment with limited hybrid scheduling.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills; team player.
• High degree of professionalism and attention to detail.

Responsibilities

• Supervise, train, mentor, and support accounting staff; provide performance feedback.
• Review staff work for accuracy and completeness.
• Perform general ledger reviews, journal entries, and reconciliations.
• Support month-end and year-end closing; prepare and review entries, accruals, and statements.
• Manage daily accounting operations: GL, AP, AR, fixed assets, bank reconciliations.
• Oversee full-cycle accounting for assigned companies; monthly close and reporting.
• Ensure GAAP compliance and internal controls; streamline processes and automation where possible.
• Meet monthly and quarterly/annual reporting deadlines; assist with variance analyses.
• Participate in major accounting decisions, issue research, and implementations.
• Take on special projects as directed by senior management.
