Job summary

The Falmouth Country Club in Falmouth, ME is seeking a full-time Assistant Rackets Professional to support year-round racket sports programming and operations. This role involves assisting the Racket Sports Director, running clinics, stringing rackets, and maintaining courts and a dedicated racket shop.

The position offers compensation with rackets- stringing and teaching commissions, plus training and mentorship in racket sports management.

Qualifications

• Experience instructing Tennis (juniors)

Responsibilities

• Assist director of racket sports with daily operations

The Country Club, near the Portland Maine area (in Falmouth, ME), is looking for a full-time, year-round, Assistant Racket Sports Professional, for their upcoming year-round programming, which is being integrated in their Brand New indoor Clay-Courts launching in November of 2026! Job Description—

Positions Title:

• Racket Sports Assistant & Racket Sports Professional/Instructor
• Tennis & Pickleball Professional

This Position’s Manager:

Racket Sports Director

Task Descriptions:

• The Rackets Sports Assistant would be required to help assist the director of racket sports with all daily duties required to operate the Racket Sports department within our club.
• Stringing Tennis Rackets
• Required to assist the Lead Tennis & Pickleball Professionals during their Clinics or Lessons.
• Must help open or close our Rackets Sports facilities & Racket Sports Shop.
• Help maintain all Racket Sports courts and facilities with the guidance of the Racket Sports Director.
• Help set-up on a daily basis our Pickleball Courts + our Clay and Grass Tennis courts.
• Required to oversee and run the Racket Sports Shop
• Operate our Point of Sale system.
• Sell racket sports equipment & assist members with Rackets sports/tennis items.
• Racket Shop inventory
• Support Rackets Directors to run [Racket Sports] Social Events, and [Racket Sports] tournaments.
• Perform additional duties and departmental support as requested by the Club and Director of Racket Sports

Job Requirement and Preferred Requirements:

• [Prefered but not mandatory] Certifications with PTR/PPR or RSPA
• [Prefered but not mandatory] Ability to string Tennis Rackets.
• Job position will come with opportunity to learn to string rackets under the mentorship of our Racket Sports Director and staff.
• [Prefered but not mandatory] be a level of 4.0 or above USTA NTRP
• At the very least a level 2.75 USTA NTRP (2.5 UTR)
• Must have experience instructing Tennis with Juniors
• [Preferred] have experience instructing/feeding adult clinics.
• Must know rules and scoring in Tennis and Pickleball
• Must be detail oriented and always seek to improve and tidy our facilities.
• Applicants will be asked to eventually be SafeSport / Safe-Play compliant through the USTA (this is a Free certification process through the United States Tennis Association). This is not mandatory to apply but will need to be compliant before the hiring date
• Must be willing to be hands-on
• Willing to learn and take-on new tasks & projects

The Country Club is heavily investing in its racket sports program. We are in the final stages of constructing our year-round, hybrid-indoor Har-Tru clay tennis facility (see our renderings in link here). Our venue features eight Wimbledon-style grass courts (with four playable at a time) which are the only professionally maintained grass courts north of Boston. Our clay courts feature the Zenniz Tracking System, providing members and their guests with automated line calling and ball tracking technology. We also offer two pickleball courts in a unique setting, with plans to expand and transition to year-round programming. In addition, land has already been set aside to add two padel courts within the next couple of years.
