Job summary

Cuisine Solutions Inc. is seeking a Quality Assurance Assistant Manager to ensure production and distribution meet quality standards and regulatory requirements. This role supports SOP development, root-cause analysis, staff supervision, and corrective actions across QA and Production teams.

The position emphasizes strong communication, documentation, and adherence to federal regulations and BRC standards. Typical shift is 7am–4pm, with responsibilities across the QA function.

Qualifications

• Minimum 2 years' experience managing quality and food safety operations, preferably in a sous vide food manufacturing environment.
• Excellent organizational, written, and verbal communication skills.
• Proficiency in MS Office.

Responsibilities

• Participate in the preparation and implementation of SOPs for Food Quality and Food Safety.
• Identify the need for program improvements and communicate with QA and Production Management.
• Assist with QA staff supervision; train staff and review performance through audits.
• Investigate customer complaints and internal non-conformities; perform root-cause analysis and corrective actions.
• Review production and quality control records and ensure corrective actions are taken.
• Ensure plant operation complies with federal regulations, customer requirements and BRC standards.
• Educate departments on standards and audit processes to address gaps.
• Oversee pre-requisite programs (maintenance, supplier approval, pest control, sanitation, testing, allergens).
• Perform other duties as assigned by Management.

POSITION REPORT TO: Quality Assurance Manager

SUMMARY: The Assistant QA Manager ensures that the production and distribution of products meet or exceed all quality standards, in addition to adhering to company and regulatory standards.

EXPERIENCE:

• Minimum of 2 years' experience managing Quality and Food Safety Operations preferably in a sous vide food manufacturing environment.
• Excellent organizational, written, and verbal communication skills
• Proficiency in MS Office

EDUCATION:

• Bachelors' degree in Food Science or 5 years' experience serving as a Quality Control Technician in the food industry or equivalent combination of education and experience.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:

1. Participate in the preparation and implementation of Standard Operating Procedures (SOP) for all tasks related to Food Quality and Food Safety.
2. Identify the need for improvement of current programs and implement the necessary changes while properly communicating with the QA and Production Management.
3. Assist with Quality Control Staff supervision. Train staff, review their work and performance through document review and tasks audits, provide guidance for improvement and cover for them as needed.
4. Investigate customer complaints and internal non-conformities while working with all operations departments, determine root cause analysis, implement corrective action and follow up on the efficiency of the changes made.
5. Review production and quality control records, ensure that corrective actions are taken as needed.
6. Ensure the plant is operating in accordance with federal regulations, customer requirements and BRC standard. Educate all departments to those standards and audit processes and procedures to identify and address gaps.
7. Oversee some or all pre-requisite programs (maintenance, supplier approval, pest control, sanitation, environmental and product testing, and allergen programs.)
8. Perform other duties as may be assigned by Management
