Job summary

Haddad Plumbing and Heating Inc. is seeking an Assistant Purchaser to join our Newark, NJ headquarters team. You will support the Purchasing Manager with sourcing, purchasing materials, creating purchase orders, and tracking costs and inventory.

The role requires a high school diploma and 1 year of purchasing experience, preferably in plumbing/HVAC. Proficiency in Excel and MS Word is expected, with strong organizational and communication skills.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• 1 year of experience in purchasing, preferably in plumbing/HVAC.
• Excellent organizational and follow-up skills.
• Good written and verbal communication skills.
• Proficiency in Excel and MS Word.
• Attention to detail.

Responsibilities

• Verify incoming and outgoing Purchase Orders and Packing Slips.
• Track and update inventory with accurate records.
• Create purchase orders and monitor their status.
• Verify costs of Purchase Orders according to project estimates.
• Prepare reports on inventory levels and discrepancies.
• Negotiate cost, delivery schedule, and terms with vendors.
• Ensure timely delivery and participate in project meetings.
• Support Purchasing Manager and Purchasing Clerk as needed.
