Beaufort County seeks a qualified attorney to provide comprehensive legal representation to assigned clients through case evaluation, strategic preparation, and courtroom advocacy.

Responsibilities include managing caseloads, preparing for hearings, and representing clients in County, Magistrate, and Municipal Courts. Must hold a Juris Doctorate and SC Bar licensure; prior municipal experience preferred.

Qualifikationen

• Requires Juris Doctorate degree.
• 3–5 years municipal law experience or equivalent.
• Licensure in the South Carolina Bar Association.

Aufgaben

• Conduct case evaluations, assess eligibility, review evidence, and ensure jurisdictional accuracy.
• Manage caseload, attend court appearances, maintain records, coordinate activities, and prepare cases for hearings and trials.
• Represent clients in County, Magistrate, and Municipal Courts, preparing and presenting cases for defense.
• Interview clients and witnesses, review records, inspect evidence, and prepare exhibits and expert witnesses.
• Represent clients in court at various hearings; prepare motions and arguments.
• Notify defendants and bondsmen of court appearances and address inquiries professionally.
• Liaise with clients, families, and witnesses; provide updates on legal processes.
• Perform data entry and document management; stay updated on criminal law and training.
