Assistant Property Manager

Come join our team as an Assistant Property Manager at Eastern Avenue Apartments in Seat Pleasant, Maryland!

Eastern Avenue is part of Volunteers of America National Services, serving as the Housing and Healthcare affiliate of the Volunteers of America organization.

Job Highlights:
  • Job Type: Full-time
  • Schedule: Monday - Friday, 8:30 am - 5:00 pm
About the role:

The Property Manager oversees daily property operations, supervises staff, maintains the building, handles administrative duties for internal and external agencies, and fosters positive relationships with residents.

Required Qualifications:
  • HUD PRAC 202 experience and HAP processing
  • Low-Income Housing Tax Credit experience
  • At least one year of property management experience
  • High School diploma or equivalent
Preferred Skills:
  • Professional certifications (CMH, ARM, CAM, RAM) preferred
  • Knowledge of regulations related to conventional properties
  • Proficiency in computer operations and data entry
  • Effective communication skills and good relations with residents and staff
Responsibilities:
  • Supervise the property office, including bookkeeping, marketing, and lease preparations
  • Market the property following Fair Housing Regulations and management guidelines
  • Prepare and submit reports as required by management or government agencies
  • Maintain all business and financial records, credit accounts, and deposits
  • Inspect the property daily for maintenance needs and repairs
  • Hire, train, evaluate, and discipline staff
  • Respond to resident requests and complaints
  • Perform other duties as assigned
