Job summary

The Recruiting Hive is seeking an Assistant Project Superintendent for a heavy civil highway project in the North Tampa Bay / Hernando County area. This full-time, on-site role supports the Project Superintendent and oversees subs, foremen and field crews on FDOT work.

Ideal candidates have 5–7 years in heavy civil highway construction, experience with FDOT contracts, and reside in Tampa Bay or Central Florida or are willing to relocate.

Qualifications

• 5 to 7 years in heavy civil highway construction.
• Experience with FDOT contracts, specs and reporting.
• Currently in an Assistant Superintendent, General Foreman or Senior Foreman role.
• OSHA 10 is a plus.
• Valid driver's license and clean driving record.
• Based in Tampa Bay or Central Florida, or willing to relocate.

Responsibilities

• Run subcontractors, foremen and crews on a day-to-day basis.
• Back up the Project Superintendent on planning and production.
• Keep daily reports, logs and field documentation current.
• Handle quality control in the field.
• Attend meetings with the owner and FDOT inspectors.
• Coordinate equipment, materials and deliveries.
• Lead jobsite safety and toolbox talks.
• Track quantities and daily production.
• Travel between work areas as needed.
