Salary Range: $90,000.00 - $125,000.00

Description

Who we're looking for: We're seeking highly motivated and engaged individuals to join our team at The Douglaston Companies. This is an exciting opportunity for an Assistant Superintendent to work in a collaborative and supportive environment, where challenges are welcomed and growth is encouraged.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

1. Manage field operations in collaboration with the Project Superintendent.
2. Coordinate, schedule, and oversee subcontractors and vendors, ensuring timely work progress.
3. Identify and resolve construction issues proactively.
4. Maintain accurate records of timekeeping and costs.
5. Supervise work and explore alternative construction methods to improve efficiency.
6. Manage material receiving, inspection, and documentation.
7. Assist in complying with all reporting requirements, including daily reports, field orders, and schedule updates.
8. Review shop drawings and submittals, ensuring adherence to schedules and contract documents.
9. Participate in required jobsite meetings.
10. Uphold safety standards, integrating safety planning into all operations.
11. Ensure quality standards are met according to company policies.
12. Complete project close-out in accordance with contractual and company requirements.
13. Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Architecture or Civil Engineering with 3-5 years of construction experience, preferably in mixed-use developments.
• Experience with NYC high-rise residential projects is a plus.
• Experience with NYCHA or tenant-in-place renovations is advantageous.
• Knowledge of building plans, specifications, and safety standards.
• Strong leadership skills with a self-starting attitude.
• Ability to safely navigate construction sites, including climbing ladders and working in various weather conditions.
